If you're a gamer into classic PC titles (or even classic Arcade and Console titles) next-gen consoles aren't the only place to look. GameTap, the broadband gaming network from Turner, is home to plenty of great arcade titles, PC classics and geek related content.
Up until now GameTap has offered their services to paying customers only. That will soon change though.By the end of this month GameTap plans to be moving away from their subscription based model and introducing new ad-supported content. Premium levels of the service will remain available for those hardcore gamers dying to get their Baldur's Gate on while free levels will offer access to a rotating series of titles with ratings varying up to T (for teen).
Along with these changes GameTap will also be adding a new storefront allowing users the option to buy current PC titles. The first title set to be released through the storefront is Tomb Raider: Anniversary. Keep your fingers crossed for titles like Baldur's Gate, Fallout and Scrapland to be included as part of the digital download service.
