I have to admit that I've never played either of the Kingdom Hearts games - that doesn't mean I'm not excited to hear that a new one is working its way to the console market.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, a Japanese video game magazine, Tetsuya Nomura revealed some interesting details concerning the next iteration of everyone's favorite Disney and Square Enix RPG. Up to this point only one Kingdom Hearts game has been released in the handheld arena. Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories was originally released for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance in late 2004 and was later integrated into the Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+ package (released in Japan March, 2007.)

Tetsuya Nomura tells Famitsu that Sora and friends might actually be heading back to the handhelds in the next Kingdom Hearts Game.

It is not Kingdom Hearts III, but it is an anecdote... I want to explain what Mickey did in the World of Darkness, and also how he got his keyblade.

While it's unclear where exactly the game will be heading the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP would probably be a safe bet.

Not many more details were given so we'll have to just keep our eyes open.
