World of Goo

Earlier this week we mentioned 2dboy and their current "7-day demo" Robot and the Cities that Built Him (which is a flash game available for freeplay right now on the 2dboy site.) In that post we mentioned the upcoming game World of Goo which is slated for release on both the PC and the Nintendo Wii.

In the following video you can see the game in action and I'm sure you'll feel the same way I do. The frenetic fast paced gameplay is both attractive and inviting. When I first saw it I was reminded of games like Loco Roco and Patapon which it obviously shares some visual styles with.

The game definitely has a sense of humor and based on what you see here it looks like it'll be an absolutely great Wii title Check it out and don't tell me you think the same thing!

World of Goo was originally slated for a release of early February but it has been pushed back to "Coming soon" according to the official page. Hopefully we get to see more of this title sooner rather than later.

New Duck Hunt

OK so either this is totally fake or some kid just got his dad fired from Hudson.

The off camera voice claims that he discovered New Duck Hunton an unlabeled disk in his father's desk. He also claims that his father is an employee of "Hudson."

If this is legit it looks like a pretty hastily made update to everyone's favorite light gun game from the NES. Thing is - why would Hudson Soft be working on an updated version of a Nintendo title?

Anyway, it's hard to imagine an updated Duck Hunt (beside the game from Wii Play) mostly because the game isn't deep enough to really turn into a full next-gen title. If this is legit it's probably part of a library similar to Atari's Atari Classics [Evolved] - only based on NES classics.

Cheap Madcatz Wii Component Cables

Wii Madcatz Component CablesI'm not usually one to go for the cheap accessories on Amazon but today they've got a deal on something I've been wanting for awhile. If you've got your Wii hooked upto an HD TV you probably know by now that it doesn't look nearly as good as most of the other consoles. Upgrading to Component Cables is the best way to solve this but when they run between $25 and $50 the investment can hurt a bit.

The good news right now is that Amazon is selling Wii Madcatz Component Cable for just $9.99. That's a $10 savings off their regular price.

If you've been thinking about upgrading the video output on Nintendo's Wii now may be the time to take the plunge.

Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None

Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None for the WiiI'm utterly shocked at this one.

Right now I refuse to let the stereotypes that are floating around in my head about gaming turn me off to the concept but I have to say it's a strange one. While browsing the list of upcoming Wii titles I stumbled up on Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None the game that appears to be the first in a series of Wii games based on Agatha Christie novels.

And Then There Were None, which you may also know as Ten Little Indians, has a plot familiar to anyone who's played the game Clue. "Ten people, each with a deadly secret, find themselves trapped on an island where they become the subjects of a cruel game played by a figure styling himself Mr. U. N. Owen ('Unknown')."

Of all the stories this is probably the most easily ported to interactive media and after the Lovecraft based game Call of Cthulhu we know a game based on a novel isn't an impossible feat.

Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None is being published by The Adventure Company and is due out in early January.

NiGHTS Journey of Dreams ScreenshotAdmittedly I never got a chance to play the original Sega Saturn game Nights into Dreams. While I'm familiar with the game I honestly don't know much about the gameplay or the story - I do know that NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams is one of the most anticipated games left in 2007 though.

While I may not know much about the game it's certainly worth mentioning that NiGHTS sure to be one of the most graphically pleasing games on the Wii and it'll definitely be a family friendly holiday gift. NiGHTS will be available December 18th.
