Robots and the Cities that Built Him

OK - you've got 1 week to program the best game you can muster ... what do you do?

Chances are you wouldn't get far. I know I wouldn't at least. The folks over at 2dboy though are a lot more creative than either of us. In just seven days, listening to Bette Midlers "From a Distance" on infinite loop they came up with Robot and the Cities that Built Him. A side scrolling action game that - while not done - makes an incredibly fun time waster.

Now, bear in mind that the game only offers two playable robots right now and there really only seems to be about 2- 3 different types of enemies. It doesn't slow the game's ingenious style - you'll loose half an hour in the snap of your fingers.

2dboy is the development studio behind the upcoming World of Goo that will be hitting the PC and Wii in the near future.  Check out the demo and don't blame us for the time spent in a daze.

If you've been eyeing Atari's newest FPS The Witcher you might be pleased to know that developer CD Projekt has released a new demo for the game. The demo, available through FilePlanet, involves the prologue and entire first act meaning that there should be plenty of stuff to try out.

The Witcher is based on the novel The Last Wish by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski and revolves around protagonist Geralt de Rivia - a sorcerer and assassin who's part of a dark brotherhood out to rid the world of monsters.

Be sure to check out the demo on FilePlanet if for more.

As we mentioned earlier this week a demo for Clive Barker's upcoming horror FPS was due to hit the Xbox Live Marketplace sometime today (Thursday, Sept 27th) - and it has.

The demo is available on XBLM, on the PlayStation Network and even for PC download.

Right now Jericho is due for release in late October so be sure to grab the demo and give it a whirl.

This weekend I'll be reviewing the XBox360 demo so be sure to check back for more.

Clive Barker’s Jericho Demo Gets Dated

Most people who hear Jericho right now start thinking immediately about the CBS show that miraculously made it back from the dead thanks to an internet movement (a la Family Guy.)

Most people aren't gamers.

Gamer's hear Jericho and they (at least should) start thinking about Clive Barker's new FPS horror game that's headed to the PC, XBox360 and PS3. If you're at all familiar with the game you'll be happy to hear that a demo for the game is working it's way to the XBox Live Marketplace this Thursday. Chances are you'll also be seeing it on the PC and PS3 around the same time.
